about

SANTA AND PETE is based on the Dutch legend, St Nicholas, a Christian Bishop, is persecuted for his Christianity and arrested. In jail, St. Nick meets Pete, a young black Moor. Pete joins St. Nick on his pilgrimages of helping those in need.

Their travels take them to the New World, where in New Amsterdam St. Nick and Pete find such curiosities as a bunch of wandering reindeer, a huge open sleigh and a a bright red suit.

As Christmas quickly approaches, St. Nick, by now known as Santa Claus, and Pete must not only keep their promise to those they've vowed to help, but also spread the message of Christmas to the children and families of this new frontier.

Every year, on December 5th, a ship arrives in the harbor in Holland. There, on board, waiving to the children who line the dock, is Santa. And next to him is his best friend and companion…Pete.

The Polson Co. presents this holiday classic, based on the book "Santa & Pete" by Christopher Moore and Pamela Johnson, directed by Duwayne Dunham and produced by Beth Polson. The film stars Hume Cronyn, James Earl Jones, Flex Alexander, Tempestt Bledsoe and Emily Mae Young.
